Who it is for
Group class is for puppies and adult dogs who can learn in a small, coached room or yard without practicing chaos. It is a strong next step after a few private lessons, and it is a good first step for easygoing dogs who mainly need manners around other bodies. It is not the right first move for a dog who is already lunging at every silhouette on the trail. If you live in South Philly, Ardmore, or anywhere in our Greater Philadelphia map and you want a weekly structure that is cheaper than a full private package, this is for you. Chris in South Philly put it well: social, not chaotic.
What happens
We keep groups small on purpose. Puppy sessions mix short play with off-switches, name games, handling, and crate-adjacent rest. Adult manners sessions work settle on a mat, polite passing, recall foundations, and leash starts with other dogs in the picture. Instructors coach people, not just dogs. You will hear us say “feed now” more than you will hear a lecture. Locations rotate so families in different counties can attend without a punishing drive. We confirm the exact park, training yard, or indoor space when you enroll. Weather plans exist because this is Pennsylvania. If your dog needs more space than the group can give, we will move you to private work. That is a success, not a failure. Rehearsing panic in a circle of other dogs is how problems get stickier. You bring a flat collar or harness we have approved, good food, and a dog who has had a bathroom break. We bring mats, a plan, and an exit route if someone has a hard minute.
Timeline
A six-week session is the standard pack. Most dogs need the full run to look comfortable, not two drop-ins. After graduation, proofing packs keep the skills from fading. If you want group class near you, call (267) 357-8109. We will tell you which session fits the dog you have, not the dog you hoped would enjoy a crowd.
How we keep a group kind
We set spacing on purpose. We have a person whose job is to watch the edges, not only the demo in the middle. If a dog needs a break behind a visual barrier, that is available. If play gets sloppy, we pause it. Puppy class is not a wrestle club. Adult class is not a gossip circle with dogs attached. Enrollment opens by session. If the current group is full or is the wrong temperament mix for your dog, we will say so and offer private lessons instead. Call (267) 357-8109. We would rather place you well than fill a chair.
